The YWCA has developed this highly interactive series of award-winning seminars to improve workforce performance and foster teamwork across a diverse group of employees. The Race and the Workplace seminars have helped organizations across our community develop a positive work culture that supports inclusion—opening the door to honest, productive conversations about bias and preferences rooted in race and culture.
Half-day and full-day seminars: Three- or six-hour sessions exploring issues of bias and preference that hinder teamwork.
Six-week seminar series: Our most comprehensive series, exploring race, building understanding, and ending with an action plan to achieve maximum potential in the workplace.
Race and Youth Leadership Development: A program engaging young people in discussions about racial challenges in our society.
Facilitator training and technical assistance: Initial training—as well as ongoing technical support—for professionals who want to lead their own programs about race in the workplace.

Created in 2004, Race Against Racism is a three-year anti-bias curriculum that encourages elementary and middle school children to explore and understand real and often complex issues related to racism, diversity, bullying, and inclusion. In 23 schools throughout Franklin County, we use this program to touch the lives—and minds—of more than 1,300 youth enrolled in School Age Child Care.
